Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

About healthiaHUB

What is healthia Hub?

healthiaHUB is Townsville’s purpose-built allied health hub, located in Aitkenvale next to Chemist Warehouse. Under one roof, you’ll find physiotherapy, podiatry, exercise physiology, osteopathy, remedial massage and a range of clinical movement classes — all delivered by a collaborative team of qualified clinicians.

Rather than managing multiple separate appointments across different practices, healthiaHUB brings your care together in one convenient, modern facility.

Who runs healthiaHUB?

healthiaHUB is backed by healthia Limited, one of Australia’s leading allied health networks. The Townsville hub brings together a number of trusted local clinic brands under one roof, including:

  • NQ Physiotherapy Centre (NQPC) — over 20 years serving Townsville
  • Core Movement NQ — rehabilitation, Pilates and group classes
  • My FootDr — Australia’s largest podiatry group
  • Foundation Podiatry — specialist biomechanical podiatry

Each clinic retains its own identity, clinical team and expertise — they’re simply better connected at healthiaHUB.

Where is healthiaHUB located?

We’re at 1/251 Ross River Road, Aitkenvale QLD 4814 — in the bright blue building next to Chemist Warehouse.

We’re easily accessible from Pimlico, Rosslea, Hyde Park, Hermit Park, Kirwan and surrounding suburbs.

Free on-site parking is available. Phone: 07 4463 8841.

Booking & Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online 24/7 through our website — just select your service and click ‘Book Now’. Alternatively, call our friendly reception team on 07 4463 8841 during opening hours.

Reception hours: Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:30pm, Saturday 8:00am–12:00pm.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

In most cases, no referral is needed — you can book directly. However, a referral from your GP is required if:

  • You hold a DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) card and wish to claim through DVA
  • You have a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan
  • You are claiming through WorkCover or another third-party insurer (you’ll also need a claim number)

If you’re unsure, just give us a call and our team will help you work it out.

Can I choose which clinician I see?

Yes. When booking online you can select your preferred practitioner, or simply choose the service type and we’ll match you with an available clinician. If you have an existing relationship with a particular therapist, just let us know when booking.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

For most appointments, we recommend bringing:

  • Medicare card and private health fund card (if applicable)
  • DVA or WorkCover claim number (if applicable)
  • Any relevant medical imaging (X-rays, scans, MRI reports)
  • A list of any current medications
  • Relevant footwear for podiatry appointments (work shoes, runners, home shoes)
  • Comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand that plans change. Please give us as much notice as possible — ideally at least 24 hours — so we can offer your appointment to another patient.

You can reschedule by calling 07 4463 8841 or emailing townsville@healthiahub.com.au.

Health Funds & Payments

Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes. We have HICAPS on-site, which means your private health fund rebate is processed on the spot — you only pay the gap. Please bring your health fund card to your appointment.

If you forget your card, you’ll need to pay the full amount and claim directly with your fund using your receipt.

Can I claim through Medicare?

Medicare rebates are available for patients with a valid Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, also known as a GP Management Plan. Your GP must refer you and specify the number of allied health visits included in your plan (up to 5 per calendar year).

Please bring your Medicare card and GP referral letter to your appointment.

Do you see WorkCover patients?

Yes. We treat patients with accepted WorkCover claims. You’ll need a current medical certificate and your WorkCover claim number. If your claim hasn’t been formally accepted yet, you’ll need to pay for your appointment and seek reimbursement once the claim is approved.

Are concession rates available?

Concessions are available for eligible patients, including high school students, full-time tertiary students and pension card holders. Your concession card must be sighted at the time of your appointment, as we record the number in our system.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, EFTPOS, credit card and HICAPS health fund claims. Payment is required at the time of your appointment.

Can I see multiple practitioners on the same visit?

Yes — and this is one of the key benefits of healthiaHUB. Because our clinicians work in the same facility, it’s possible to schedule appointments with different practitioners on the same day. Your care team can also communicate directly, which means more coordinated treatment and better outcomes for you.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Some of our services are available via telehealth for eligible patients. Please contact us on 07 4463 8841 to discuss whether a telehealth appointment is appropriate for your situation.

Do I need a referral for classes?

No GP referral is needed to join a class. However, an initial assessment with one of our physiotherapists is required before your first class — this ensures the program is appropriate for your needs. To claim private health fund rebates on classes, a follow-up assessment every 4–6 months is also required.

How do I book a class?

Classes are booked through the MindBody app. Contact our reception team to set up your account, then purchase a pass and book directly through the app. Note: a pass must be purchased before a class can be reserved. Passes have a 12-month expiry from date of purchase.
